Welcome to our church

The Free evangelical church in Berlin Pankow is one of the young church plants in Berlin, which is supported through Inlandmission, our denomination´s  church planting coordination.  Timo and Manuela Heimlich, the pastors family, moved here in 2005, finding prayer partners, gathering a core group, offering a toddlers group and bible study.   Actually in spring 2010 each Sunday we welcome around 40 adult service attendes plus 20 kids. 

We call ourselves ” Young church for the heart of Pankow” : Focused on Berlin – Pankow as our target area and in prior orientation to young families, the church is now connecting the neighbourhood,  business people, families and friends, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and is praying for transformation of our community.  

 

We are convinced that the space downstairs will provide many
opportunities to build bridges between the community and the church. By having our regular Sunday church service downstairs, the church will be much more visible and, therefore, have a much greater presence here in the city. Our goal is to share the space with local businesses as well as neighbors in the community. This provides great networking and relationship-building opportunities. This project will truly be a fantastic tool for relational evangelism, service, and outreach here in Pankow.

“ Changing lives that change their world” includes a strong family ministry to impact kids and teenagers- they are the ones who are going to take responsibility in our cities and countries future. We want to build trust and relationship and – depending on the different age groups- explain the gospel in modern, creative and understandable ways. 

The VBS/ KIBA schedule includes 4 days with music, games, bible stories, memory verses and lunch ( Monday to Thursday). The Friday is a day off for evaluation, to relax and to prepare the weekend.

On Saturday the families are invited for a short trip and picnic somewhere in the green area of Berlin. KIBA ends with a feast and family service on Sunday – and after re- decoration and cleaning. As teams and helpers we gather on Monday again- for a last review and goodbye.

That’s how you can participate

Join our intercessor network “Pankow7hundred” to praise God for previous provision, and to pray for current needs of our city and church.

Send short term construction teams for remodeling the whole building as a community center, with in the fall 2010/spring 2011. Costs for the remodeling might be around 15.000-20.000 Euros.

Help us to cover part of the renting costs to use the storefront building downstairs for five years so we can retain the current growth momentum (monthly expenses fall between 2,500 and 3,000 Euros)

Give short term individual expertise and councel in the development of a clear perspective in questions regarding the business background, towards financial independence, and by helping us to develop a larger master plan.

Help to create a one-year –internship opportunity for family supportive ministry and discipleship beginning with 2011 either through sending personal or financial support.
